Description
Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus (M-MuLV) Reverse Transcriptase is an RNA directed DNA polymerase. This enzyme can synthesize a complementary DNA strand initiating from a primer using either RNA (cDNA synthesis) or single-stranded DNA as a template. The absence of RNase H activity enhances the synthesis of long cDNAs and therefore the enzyme is recommended for preparing long cDNAs.
Application: first strand cDNA synthesis.
Source: Isolated from E.coli strain that carries the cloned Reverse transcriptase gene
Unit definition: Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus (M-MuLV) Reverse Transcriptase is an RNA directed DNA polymerase. Application: first strand cDNA synthesis.
Reaction buffer: SE-buffer Reverse transcriptase M-MulV
Storage conditions: 10 mM KH2PO4 (pH 7.5); 0,1 mM EDTA; 200 mM NaCl; 7 mM 2-mercaptoethanol; 50% glycerol. Store at -20°C.
Quality control: The enzyme is purified free of contaminating endonucleases andexonucleases.
Notes: High enzyme concentration may lead to RT-PCR inhibition. In this case the enzyme preparation should be diluted in 5, 10 or 20 times with M-MuLV Reverse Transcriptase dilution Buffer (supplemented)
