Restriction Endonuclease EmiI Renamed to EmiS6I

SibEnzyme announces that the restriction endonuclease EmiI has been renamed to EmiS6I.

The name change was made in coordination with REBASE (New England Biolabs) to comply with the international nomenclature guidelines for restriction endonucleases.

The new designation EmiS6I ensures unambiguous identification of the enzyme and avoids conflicts with previously registered acronyms. The letter S in the name refers to SibEnzyme.

This change affects the enzyme name only. Its recognition specificity, biochemical properties, and reaction conditions remain unchanged.

The new name EmiS6I is already used in the company’s product catalog and documentation. The corresponding changes are also made to the scientific publication describing the enzyme.
