SibEnzyme announces the commercial availability of the restriction endonuclease EmiI. The enzyme was isolated from Exiguobacterium mexicanum 6 and thoroughly characterized.
EmiI is a Type IIS restriction endonuclease that recognizes the non-palindromic DNA sequence
5′-CTCTTC-3′ and cleaves DNA outside the recognition site at positions 1/4, generating three-nucleotide 5′ overhangs. EmiI is an isoschizomer of Ksp632I and Bst6I and exhibits high activity at 37 °C in standard SE buffers.
The enzyme is well suited for applications in molecular cloning, genetic engineering, biotechnology, and DNA diagnostics.
EmiI is available for order as a purified enzyme preparation
